Ronnie
Pauls, the founding member of SUNDOWN, hails from Westchester County,NY and has been performing in the NY
City Tri-State area since 1975. Although few in number, his past bands
include Mantra, Scarlet, The Legendary Sophisticatos, and Boothill. He has
also spent time performing through out the North East US with a 12 piece
international Ukrainian band, which released three albums that still sell
through out the US, Canada, Europe and Russia.
Ronnie started playing the guitar at the age of five. His musical
influences at that early age were country western, classical, big band
swing and jazz. He quit taking formal guitar lessons after several years
and started to develop his ability to play by ear. He began studying and
taking on the style and sound of such guitar greats as Duane Allman, Eric
Clapton and Leslie West, which has combined to form his own unique style
of playing, and has entertained audiences over the last three decades.
Ronnie has been hailed as one of the most fluid and expressional
guitarists around.
