Jim is the newest member of SUNDOWN and once he was "discovered", was immediately recruited into the band in January 2008 to fill the vacant spot left by Fred Andreassi.
He started playing bass at age 12, guitar by 15 and has been delivering powerful lead and backup harmony vocals for as long.
Jim's musical influences include: Buffalo Springfield, The Byrds, CSN&Y, Stephen Stills, Neil Young, Chris Hillman, Molly Hatchet, Allman Brothers, 38 Special, Johnny Winter, and of course ZZ Top and Lynyrd Skynyrd.
Coming from a very musical family, Jim grew up listening to his Dad on guitar, Mom on piano, and the sound of beautiful harmony vocals echoing through out the house. His older brother Ron also accomplished on guitar and upright bass. Jim and Ron have been performing together over their life time everything from Folk, Rock, Old Country, to Blue Grass.
Jim has played bass in several bands including: “NUTHIN’ FANCY”, a Tribute To Lynyrd Skynyrd); “THE LONGNECK BAND”, Southern Rock and Modern Country; and “TELL TALE SIGNS BAND”, covering a broad range of music from Classic and Modern Rock, to Reggae/ Dance and party music. He is a member of The Hudson Valley Blue Grass Association, and is also presently recording in several “unplugged” Acoustic Projects.
